25 PRACTICAL BLOG POST WRITING IDEAS
This post - 25 Practical Ideas To Write A Blog post, has been written with the idea of giving clues to you and to myself about what to write about in a blog post. Because blogging by nature demands frequent updating with fresh content and it is seen that as a blog ages the blogger starts feeling the scarcity of ideas on which to write a blog post. This is not the scenario when you start a blog but rather when you start a blog there is so much ideas in your mind that you find it difficult to choose which one to write upon first. As time goes on you write more and more posts and gradually you start feeling the dearth of ideas. This is when this post will be of help to you and me both. I have listed this ideas and I will put this in the form of a post so that it helps me, you and all of our fellow bloggers. Moreover more posts means more diverse topics covered so more chances of getting visitors from search engines etc so more scope to make money online.Here is the list of post ideas :-
1. How to ...?, Why to ...?, What is ...?, Ways to ... - These are tutorial type articles that generally teaches the basics on - how to do a particular thing?, why to do a particular thing?, what is the meaning or importance of a particular thing?, ways to do a particular thing etc. These type of articles speaks about some of the basics in your niche. They are in huge demand and are also heavily searched for in search engines mainly by the newcomers or persons wanting to know about something. Say for example in my niche - Make Money Online - I have written articles titled - How to start a blog?, What is RSS?, How to choose affiliate products?, How to promote affiliate products on Craigslist?, How to make money blogging? just to name a few and very recently - Ways to make money online. You can browse my How to? and What is? topics to get an idea.
2. List Of Resources - Write a post giving a list of useful resources both free and paid in your niche that you think may be of interest or help to the visitors.
3. List Of Tools - Write a post giving a list of useful and important tools in your niche or in general that you think your visitors will like.
4. List Of Why Not To Do? OR Why To Do? - You can also make a list giving reasons on - why one should not do a particular thing? or why one should do a particular thing?
5. List Of Tips - You can make a list of Tips that you think your visitors must follow to be successful in some venture or to avoid failure.
6. Recent Developments - The Internet is an ever changing place so you can always find it handy to write a post on latest developments taking place in your niche or in general that would be of interest to your visitors.
7. Your achievements - All bloggers improve slowly towards their path of success so you can occasionally say for example once in a month write a post giving your stats and showing your improvements and successes online. This will on one hand keep a record for you that you can use as a reference in future and also on the other hand help to build your visitors trust in you as we all like to follow persons who are successful and improving and it is always more convincing to talk showing your stats.
8. Reviews - Consider writing reviews on topics in your niche or on topics of general interest. For example you can think of writing reviews on products, other blogs or websites in your niche, books, tools and resources etc. You can also write reviews on your affiliate products.
9. Sponsored reviews - Write sponsored reviews on blogs, websites or products in your niche - this will give you a post on one hand and some sweet money on the other.
10. Link posts - You can occasionally write posts that is a collection of links to posts on a particular topic present in other blogs or your own blog.
11. Interviews - You can take and publish interviews with famous bloggers who have made a name for themselves in your niche. You can also speak about their online success story and how we can learn and follow their footsteps to achieve success.
12. Videos - You can prepare a video or share one that you have collected from a video site like YouTube or MetaCafe that is relevant to your blog or of general interest.
13. Blog Carnival - You can host a blog carnival on a particular topic in your niche where bloggers will approach you with links to relevant posts to be included in your carnival. Then you can sort them and put the links you have chosen in the form of post and publish it.
14. Guest Posts - Offer guest posting opportunity on your blog and if your blog is a bit old, famous and gets a decent amount of traffic then you will find many bloggers approaching you to write a guest post in your blog (to get some traffic and a few links). Approve the ones that are from your niche and will write relevant content that will increase your blog's value.
15. Answer Comments - As time goes on you will find that it becomes increasingly difficult to answer to each comment posted in your blog so you can keep a track of comments and choose to answer common or related queries in the form of a post.
16. Ask For Suggestions - This is a good practice to occasionally write a post asking for suggestions from your readers on "how you can improve your blog design?" or on "what topics do they want you to write a post on?". This will give you many more new post ideas that you must not have even thought about and also will help you in building up a relation with your readers.
17. Contests - You can plan to hold a contest and write a post accordingly announcing the contest. Also state the rules, eligibility criteria and prizes to be won. People will love your blog and give you a lot of publicity.
18. Podcasts - As with sharing videos you can also record an audio on some topic and post a podcast to share it. You can also share a podcast that you liked and picked up from some other blog or website.
19. Your Pics - Occasionally you can also post your photographs that you have taken while you were on a trip or of a family function or event etc. This will let your readers know more about you and will naturally draw them more towards you as it is human nature to start liking a person more whom we know more about.
20. Referring Post - It often happens that when we are surfing the net and reading different blogs we come across posts that we like and feel like mentioning about it in our blog - but we can take this to the next level by writing a post on the same topic either elaborate or abridged version in your own words. But never forget to mention your source or include a link to the original post in your post.
21. Combining Posts - If you can find posts on a particular topic on multiple blogs then you can always mix up the posts and produce a post in your own version. Do mention your sources at the end.
22. Get Freelancers - If you do not mind spending a few bucks then you can always hire a freelance writer to write a post or two for you. Do mention your requirements when hiring a freelancer. This will give you a break and help you in coming up with new ideas to write posts on.
